its easy to explain the way the world is if you just blame secret cabals for everything, I guess
the idea that patriarchy grew because it was simply more productive than other forms of organization and, therefore, became the system to progress into the future-present for us-is interesting, worth looking into i think; thanks for sharing

No, but it seems to be the mainline view among anthropologists. Wikipedia is always a good place to start.

Patriarchy did not grow because it was a better system; it grew because greed and a desire for power entice men in search of domination. Does the bully succeed because he is the better man? no, he succeeds because he has the power to dominate. Read The Creation of Patriarchy by Gerda Lender for a history of how and why it began. Read about its insidious effects on our day-to-day life in The Gender Knot by Allen Johnson. See how patriarchy immediately arrived in Maoist China, under a communist doctrine, a supreme warring male gave orders and enriched himself, amassed more power and sought total control. Patriarchy is the problem.
