Saudi Arabia, the very definition of a totalitarian petro state that clearly has no quasi-religious preference for renewables, is investing tens of billions of dollars into solar. Which will all be provided by China.

Let that sink in, for any of the people still out there who think renewables don’t demand investment.

Weird that the dude who works for an oil and gas company wants to get rid of renewable energy.

It’s almost like the lobbyists control the government

Wow so all of a sudden the folks who have been crying “let the free market decide - the government should not be picking winners and losers” are going to put their thumb firmly on the scale in favor of oil and gas?

One might be tempted to conclude that they haven’t been arguing in good faith this whole time after all!!

I remember asking someone who said renewable/alternate fuel wasn't as good as natural/fossil fuels. I asked "What happens when it runs out" I was met with "I assume that we'll find some alternative" like that's what we're trying to do!

MAGA is literally destroying any long term goals that will insure future stability for all, to gain immediate profits and benefits to the very few at the top. MAGA mist be dismantled and destroyed.

Energy Secretary Chris Wright is illiterate and innumerate, but has shares in fossil fuels, and screw everybody and everything if he's not going to see a return on that investment. The idiot is beyond his eyeballs, beyond his means, in sunk cost.

Renewables are replacing natural gas all over the world. That's the "national energy emergency" that Trump and his cabinet of imbeciles are fighting.

Boomers would take the planet with them to their deaths if they could manage, dooming their children and grandchildren and great grandchildren to an unlivable planet without a single thought, just to keep getting paid.

Trump appointed an energy secretary who knows nothing about energy.

What a shock.

“Can’t”, or they won’t let renewables replace natural gas?

That's not what the free market and private investors say with their investments.

What he's not saying is he could lose $ millions if renewables replace natural gas.

Did I miss Congress passing a new energy act? Wasn’t the Inflation Reduction Act and the Bipartisan Infrastructure Act like done through democratic means?

What policies did the Biden administration implement that were not ordered by Congress? What power does this unelected bureaucrat have to take things in his new direction?

Just like public healthcare, where most of the rest of the world has figured out how to provide public healthcare, soon the USA will be the only country becoming *more* reliant on fossil fuels as the rest of the world moves to renewables -- and China will be making most of the money from the shift.

Renewables are already replacing natural gas. Solar is the cheapest way to generate energy.

New technologies like iron flow batteries will provide grid level storage for days.

Companies will choose the correct technology, irrespective of what this bozo tells them to.

What is he talking about? I already replaced my natural gas with renewables. It took some investment, sure, but the ROI isn't that bad now that I get all my power from rooftop solar.

This path is so obviously the better one, it's just amazing to watch people hem and haw about it.

“Vows to reverse Biden’s … policies.” That’s basically what Trump has been doing.
