However, this is quite different from the stance of his neighbor Donald J. Trump, President of the United States.

Trump isn't trying to improve USA global viability. He has no future vision. Hell, he doesn't know what he is doing from day to day.
Carney does have a future focus. What he does now prepares Canada to compete 10 to 15 years out. He is working for the people and a legacy. Trump is working for self enrichment and Putin.
