I'm a type 1 diabetic who had to get back to smartphones after getting diagnosed. I used to have a cheap nokia, but it couldn't connect to my insulin pump/sensor, only android phones can do that. I wish i can get the 903kc to be a dumbphone user again! :)

I am a high school kid wanting to spend less time on my phone and on my devices in general. I have noticed how much less I accomplish when I use my regular smartphone and how much time I waste and I am hoping to improve. I was recently on a trip where one of the other guys had a flip phone and I was inspired by how much he accomplishes daily and want to give dumb phones a try! Hoping to win the Kyocera 903KC!

I recently bought a Cat S22 and after de-googling it, and installing a minimalist launcher it has really helped me cut back on my screen time and helped me get a healthier relationship with tech in general. However, it is very uncomfortable to carry due to its size. I considered buying a Kyocera phone, but I can't realistically afford one at the moment. I'd love the way they look though, and I think the form factor would be more practical for me. I am willing to pay shipping. Best of luck to all who enter!

been lurking for around a year now and was going to take the plunge once I graduated from college. I may be moving out of the US after graduation. That plus some financial woes have kept me from committing to a switch. Most of the models that appealed to me (sunbeam in particular) are US exclusive, and ii have heard it is hassle trying to get things like the 902kc to work on US networks, making the price tag steep.

Good luck to everyone :)

As a college student, I have definitely struggled with smartphone addiction. The only time I was able to curb my issues was when I had a Kyocera Gratina for a summer, which solved some problems while highlighting others that I had to fix beyond the phone. The article I wrote about it for my college paper also inspired a phone free section at one of our dining halls, which has been nice. Now though, the Gratina doesn't work on Mint anymore, so I am back on my smartphone, which has been a bit rough.

I’ve been super interested in having a dumb phone and I really like the style of the Japanese Kyocera! I think this phone would allow myself to live in the moment and challenge myself in the new year!

My little sister has been a huge fan of Japanese flip phones for a while now, and we haven’t been able to afford it due to our recent financial situation so id love to be able to surprise her with a gift of one for Christmas. I’ve been on the look out for one for ages and I’d love to be able to see the look on her face when she sees it !!! She’s entering freshman year and it’ll be her first phone that our parents will allow for her. Thank you, hoping to win ! Good luck to everyone

Im a college student who is trying really hard to work with my adhd, and also save a little money because my goal is to graduate debt free, and I’m paying biweekly as I’m going :) I feel like switching to a dumb phone could be just the thing. Every time I delete an app that I spend copious amounts of time on, I just find another loophole and it’s getting ridiculous at this point. I miss having the attention span to read and having any tolerance for boredom at all honestly. I just want to get back to my motivated self, have better time management, a better sleep schedule, and an overall better quality of life!

For today, I am an Iphone user, but for some time I want to return to my childhood day when I have a classic dumb phone. In those days I only use phone for calls to my mom and dad and sometimes to play games. Now I study on university and I really want to get to know each other with other students, but I realized that I spend too much time on my phone. That's first reason why I want to explore again a dumb phone sphere. Second reason is that I really like this minimalism style of having a dumb phone because my mind won't be bothered by some social media stuff, and then I will focus on things that will make my life happier. I think it is enough. Good Luck to others :D

Im a college arts student struggling both financially and with my time. I ended up learning that the hard way this past semester in which being so connected cost me my grades. Id be incredibly lucky to have the Kyocera 903kc to spend less time online and more time with my girlfriend and more time working on my art portfolio so i can accomplish my goals academically and professionally. All this and the fact that i could go on a cheaper phone plan haha. Im very thankful for this chance and hopeful i may get this phone.

Hi! I’d love to receive one of these phones. I’m a teenager who’s been meaning to switch to a dumb phone. I was going to buy one off of a guy from here, but he ghosted me and I can’t find decent dumb phones at a good price any more. I’m also a software developer, so I’d really like to make software targeting dumb phones. Unfortunately, KaiOS phones are terrible to develop for. These android flip phones have a nice middle ground of being fun to tinker with and get stuff (like YouTube, web browsing, or other stuff that I wouldn’t want to actually use the device for, just prove it’s possible) working but still locked down enough that I’d still be limiting my social media use

High schooler here too! I love old flip phone and would love a japanese Kyocera one. I can't justify spending that much money on one though. I could pay shipping, in the US :)

My first phone was a Motorola v300. I used to use it for music and calls, then a Nokia n95, used for music and photos, at the time I was hoping for a Motorola u9. next I had Xperia phones, and recently after having an iPhone XS Max, I went back to android.

I started using phones as a tool, for music, radio, camera, calls and texts. Now the phone basically uses me for ads, shopping, google searches data and social media algorithms, it has deeply affected my well being and ability to have healthy relationships with people, although a flip phone like a Kyocera won’t immediately fix any of that, it is a step in the right direction.

I don’t live in the US, but have friends there willing to ship it to me, I hope I win, but good luck to all.

I like being different from my peers and I feel that owning a 903kc embodies that uniqueness perfectly. I love the aesthetics of the phone and believe that it's such a great conversation starter for people who also find it intriguing. I used to use a TCL Flip 2 and I loved the idea of trying to get others to also make a switch or at least be mindful of their social media/technology usage.

While I no longer use the TCL Flip 2 because I wasn't able to get the necessary apps I needed as a student, I believe that the 903kc is my next journey to try to get others to join this neat little community here (with style of course). I'm a big advocate of trying to get other to be disconnected because I find so much value in taking time away from the screen. To bring back the reason why we used phones in the first place, as a tool to make us more productive in our day to day lives. Not as a endless consumption device for us to fall into this endless loop. I find myself coming across many people who seem unhappy/discontent and my first question is always how much do you scroll. In summary, I just really want a cool phone like the 903kc as a way to get more people to become interested or open to the idea of ditching their smart phone for a more simplistic way of life.
