Yes, but pronunciation aside, the prefix for WereGarurumon and WarGreymon is, at least in romanized Japanese, the same.

Not always. It’s been done a bit inconsistently, but that’s more on the Japanese being bad at English than anything.
It has been romanized as WereGarurumon and WarGarurumon, sure, but also as WahGarurumon. And considering that some romanizations in Digimon don���t make much sense (Archnemon) or straight up butcher the inspirations of the name (Holsmon), and Bandai Namco Japan being generally bad at romanizing names across multiple franchises, including flip-flopping between spellings, I wouldn’t put much faith in them keeping the name WarGarurumon for WereGarurumon.
