we look offended when teams have the audacity to attack

Anyone blaming injuries is ignoring the fact we’ve played some easy opponents and have won once in ten games
Our loss at home to Ipswich predates the “crisis”
We had a week to prep against AZ and looked totally disjointed - as we have since forever
This is as damning as the stat that we’ve conceded the first goal at home a record number of times
We set up so predictably open, it’s easy for teams to play against us regardless of personnel, and this is further evidence
The time for excuses is up

Yesterday was frustrating to see us continue to play out of the back when Bournemouth were practically man marking our back line waiting for the pass.
Bournemouth weren’t even remotely worried about a ball to our midfield or striker….
Why make it so easy for them to press?

Wow, a stat that isn’t used to deflect from what we can see on the pitch. Love it

I mean, considering we've been missing our center backs for most of the season not surprising

So with largely our first team back for this game, what are the Ange supporters blaming the shit performance on now?

But who cares how many goals they score against us, because we’ll score more goals than them! This is the great philosophy of temu hansi flick

It’s bad but I think we’re taking our eye off the point of Ange’s system which is ultimately to make more chances and outscore the opponent. Our attacking players have been poor just as much as the defence has been.
Personally I think it’s because of our hesitance to lose the ball. Losing the ball usually means a transition that only VDV is capable of really dealing with against the quickest players. So we safely tap it about with no real difficulties caused for the opposition.
Honestly the team needs to get confidence back and start playing in the attacking manner we’ve seen in glimpses. (Usually matched with VDV being present). Our senior midfield players are also shockingly bad for the system… Which helps neither the defence or attack.

We start our press before we get organized. Which does 2 things. Makes it easier to beat our press and leaves us exposed when the press does get beat.

Until it becomes a factor in the table like goal difference it has no relevance

what do you expect, we have no midfield, teams just stroll up the pitch and attack

tbf a player running into the box in the acres of space we leave on the left probably counts as an expected goal at this point.

Guys how have West Ham and Leicester managed to defend better than us at home. Their managers must have been given so much time and backing from their owners, who have surely spent lavishly on world-class defenders

Ange obviously has not had the ideal conditions but he has not been able to work with any of the tools he has. It's a shame because I think there's like 90% of a good idea in what he wants to do, but the parts that don't work lead to us conceding too many goals.

That's what having a teenage midfielder at CB for so long will do to you.
It's actually terrifying how people will turn a completely blind eye to the huge issues we've faced this season just to rag on Ange and the club.
