I'm not sure that it is exactly clear from his SW post that that's all it was. SW is not really used for that.

edit: ah, ok, viewing his profile directly you can see the comment he left in that post but not the content of the SW post. In his removed comment, he basically says that it's "digital suicide", not actual suicide of his physical body.
