I hope Hagel gets nominated. However, this article describes the Star of David as a "Satanic" symbol. The hexagram is a common religious symbol that also appears in other traditions. For example, the Indian Gayatri Yantra[1] (a geometric symbol that accompanies the Gayatri Mantra) contains the 'Star of David.'

Hagel is hardly anti-Israel. Actually, he brings balance to the relationship between America and Israel. He actually supports a one state solution and an independent Israel with a separate Palestinian state which means autonomous peace for the Jews for the long-term. Hagel is also against a potential war with Iran. America has no money. I once lived in America and now I live in China. You have no idea what the difference is in terms of life quality unless you live in China as an upperclass equivalent wage earner. It is not even comparable to the life rich Americans experience. There are actually rich Chinese bosses here with Harems of wives and 50+ children. But besides that, we Israelis don't "need" your money but we definitely will listen and sometimes follow your suggestions if you do give us money and discounts on military supplies. But don't take my word for it, I am only a Jewish leader in my community in China and a former IDF solider volunteer. Half of Israel doesn't support new settlements in the Palestinian territories. But the other half are in control of the Israeli government similar to the Bush era and the republican bulwark protecting their own asses in congress now. There just isn't anything a common person can do at the moment.

The merkaba[1] is an integral piece of sacred geometry. As such, it isn't able to carry as political a connotation as Satanic.
