Thanks for extending! I can sign up now.
As with any contest, I’m a little worried it will be mostly a popularity contest. People with larger social media following will be funneling their followers here, which I guess is one reason why this is sponsored by Reddit admins.
I’m signing up for FUN of course, but I can’t help but wonder what my chances will be. Is the prize enough to incentivize the bigger names? (7 comics for $500 seems like an ok rate, but that is best case. If I was a full time illustrator, I wouldn’t enter if I already had some commissions) Unfortunate to only include US, but it does make getting to ro16 or ro32 seem more possible for a hobbyist creator like me.
The prize structure being relatively flat is nice. I noticed the prize bump between ro16 and ro8 is bigger (125 to 225) than between ro8 and ro4 (225 to 300) which seems unusual but I guess that’s just how the prize pool worked out. I coulda mis-mathed, but it’s 5000 USD in total prizes so that’s pretty cool!
I’m looking forward to the prompts.

Yeah, that's a concern but that's democracy for you. Couldn't really do blind voting since so many of the regular artists on here have such distinct styles.

Thanks! I drew it up that way, since I play in a lot of magic the gathering tournaments and have always favored a flatter prize structure. Seems more egalitarian. And yeah, the differences between rounds are pretty much arbitrary since I was just trying to get it to add up to $5k.
