Some Fire Based Alarms even used gunpower to wake you up with a BANG. https://mymodernmet.com/candle-clock-alarm/

I doubt this would work as a wake up alarm. A candle burns too fast to be lit when you to bed, and wake you after 7-10 hours later. Such a candle would be ridiculously long and probably ridiculous to make.

Seems unrelated but it kinda reminds me of a short story I read in the primary school textbook about how someone in WWII would hide a capsule of secret documents in a candle, and had to move the candle away discreetly when the Gestapo came to check their home, because having the candle just die down out of nowhere would raise suspicion.

Wow!! Look at how much this world has evolved.

99% of today's age people would sleep right through this candle alarm. /S 😂🤣

I’ve always been curious where they keep the candle so that it’s close enough to hear but not so close that the light will keep them awake.
