Bro I worked at McDonalds 20 years ago and they were using plastic bags in cardboard boxes back then, lol. I think the kegs you may be remembering were the CO2 for the machines.

I swear McDonald’s still used kegs for the syrups like how everyone used to. Maybe some don’t now
