View submission: Addressing the new video player
Pro tip - you can expand your comments up to cover your entire screen. When you do this, the video automatically pauses.

Pro tip - the old video player did this automatically before you added in the (useless) ability to see only half a screen of comments at a time.
The old comment view was PERFECT. It’s not like you had to navigate back to see the video! It was just at the top of the comment scroll. Once I’ve seen a video there is a 0% chance I want to watch it on loop while I read comments.

And then you try to swipe down to bring the video back and you get the swipe down menu on iOS. Literally every single time I try to jump between the video and comments it's a ridiculous UI mess, the usability factor of this layout is a 2/10. I honestly have no clue what so ever how someone can use it in its current form and think "yep, that works well".

Why not making the comment section like the comment section for images? The sliding thing just feels stoopid

The new player shows comments the original way when I press the v.reddit link. Keeping that functionality will make the user experience a lot better. The card style expandable comments break the normal flow of reading comments and also strips out useful context like the post title.

Yeah. Really shouldn’t have gone with “pro tip” on that until y’all actually release something that seems… you know, *professional.*
