View submission: Karma experiment

I have a couple of questions:

• Who will be part of this experiment? Will you take a group of random people or follow an algorithm basing on already existing karma values to choose the candidates?

• You announced in a previous post that this awardee karma won't change content visibility unlike the already existing types. Will this mean that it only has cosmetic value in your profile? It seems like the main issue would be spam. Are you working on some way to avoid it?

Aside from the topic, thank you all so much for always bringing new updates and refreshing the site as a whole!

Thanks for the questions!

• Users will be randomly selected to take part in the experiment
• Awarder / awardee karma won't affect ranking of posts and comments. Users who get it will have it visible on their profile page. We'll be working with our Safety team during the duration of this experiment to mitigate issues with manipulation and/or spam.
