Or they could go the other way to cultivate other markets. Impose retaliatory tariffs on the US and drop tariffs on the rest of the G7 & the EU for the duration of the retaliation.

Countries impose tariffs, not companies, so if there’s a tariff imposed on Canadian potash it would include foreign owned companies such as BHP running a Canadian plant.
