It's glorious and nervewracking at the same time. Nature is amazing.

The last few miles at Old Man Winter today were nuts. Peddling hard to make forward progress while going down a hill.

When you hear the house creak, you know the wind is strong.

Anybody remember that crazy windstorm on 6/6/06? Coming home that night driving around downed trees all across town was surreal.

I miss being in Boulder during these times. I would always check this site. They usually seem to pop off around January.
As someone who grew up in tornado alley. These chinook winds are incredibly powerful. I've seen glass windows and doors blow out numerous times and saw 100mph gusts several times living there.

On my way back from Denver last night, about halfway down the hill into Boulder on the highway, I got hit with a crazy gust and hail for a few seconds. It was scary, and I have a reasonably heavy car.

That wind meter was down during the last high wind event a few weeks ago. Glad it's back up!
