It's great if you want every joke in the series to be about sex or some sort of bodily fluid. And the women are generally categorised as "complete psychopath" or "needs saving", (the two offhand exceptions are one who grows into not needing saving and another who's both categories) so that's fun. And if that's not your cup of tea, maybe you'll enjoy MC being the anthropomorphic personification of arrogance.
It found it fun at first but it got a bit much.

I can understand not liking the series especially if you dislike LitRPG, but I really have no idea where this complaint is coming from, especially speaking as someone who's usually pretty sensitive to this kind of issue.
Just off the top of my head for what you're calling "exceptions": Donut (past the very beginning), Odette, Imani, Ellie, Juicebox, Rosetta, Zev, Miriam. And tons of other characters.
The only character that really fits the "damsel in distress" trope is Katia, and only at first. And while there's plenty of psychopaths given the setting, I can think of plenty of both male and female examples, it's not particularly one-sided.

I think there are a lot of viable female characters:
One thing I really liked about the series was the amount of focus on non-romantic, non-sexual relationships with women.

For context, I hate reading YA because it's teenage bullshit at a teenage reading level.
DCC is elementary school bullshit at an elementary school reading level, strewn through with profanity and vulgarity. It is written for manbabies, which is so much worse than YA.
