View submission: Do NOT Sleep on Dungeon Crawler Carl
I read like 50+ books a year and this is the most fun I’ve had reading since I was a child reading Harry Potter.
I’m 35.
Also, the audiobooks are the best audiobooks I’ve ever heard by several orders of magnitude.

Seconding the quality of the audiobooks. Really shows how great the medium can be.

One of the very few audiobooks that are better than the book.

Only narrator I like better is on the Dresden Files but the fact that the same guy can voice both Carl and Donut so well is damn impressive.

I read at a snails pace because I tend to read classics, fairly dense/long horror, or nonfiction. I picked this book up MLK weekend and I just finished book 3 yesterday. I can’t put it down and I feel the same way as you regarding how much fun it is. It’s replaced a lot of my YouTube time, gaming time, etc. im 33 for reference.

Jeff Hays is amazing narrator, you can watch his craft at soundbooth theatre on YouTube. They are also producing multicast full audio special effects versions.

IMO, the best audiobook is World War Z. That’s what I use for comparison.

Apparently we're the same person because I posted a video talking about how DCC dethroned HP as the most fun I've ever had reading

That's just it. It's not deep. It's not insightful. It's not gonna challenge any of your world views. It's just a ton of fun. Like the summer blockbuster of books. And I'm loving it.

Oh shit. I didn't realize they have audiobooks. That's how I'm going to get through book 3 and be able to move on! Thank you!

Adding in that the audio books are amazing quality. Even if you read the books before or after, well with the cost. Superb voice acting.

Did you read them? Or listen to them? Not the same thing.
