I can block you, and then post disparaging comments about you.
They *don't even have to do that*. You *could* but, why bother? Just blocking person B stops them from engaging anywhere in the thread that you are on.

It depends what kind of feud or vendetta is going on. They can try to make you look bad elsewhere without you being able to defend yourself. Or, let's say they want to try to win an argument. Who's better, Kirk or Picard? They spend a week blocking everyone who said they liked Picard, then make a big pro-Kirk post. A trivial example to illustrate the point on how this new policy can stifle free and open debate and discussion.
It also changes the nature of the sub. People can live in alternate worlds on the same sub, without being able to see the same discussions everyone else does. Someone could refer back to a post from last week which you couldn't even see.
