View submission: Announcing Blocking Updates

Surely this is a joke? I started a comment-thread, someone replied and blocked me. I am now unable to defend myself or post any additional comments, in my own comment-thread. This cannot be the intention of the feature.

I don't see the issue. This is the point of blocking. You can keep toxic redditors from engaging you in conversation.

This is so infuriating. Blatantly making it easier to peddle misinformation, something that is already an enormous problem on Reddit. Is there an alternative to this site? Reddit is just becoming anonymous Facebook at this point. Reddit's quality just keeps dropping as the advertisers pay them more and more. I think shit like this is a feature, not a bug. Just look at Facebook, misinformation is *very* profitable.

Or even worst

Political, news, or country subs (especially smaller to medium size ones) where a lot of the stories are posted by few people

They can block people that have opposing views blocking them entirely from the discussion.
