Came across this that says that you get paid to read and review book. Is this legitimate?

It is but the books you have to read are awful. I did it years ago, so it's probably different now.

If you just do it for the money, then it is not worth it. If you like reading new books, then it can be a way to earn a bit extra.

It's legit, I've written 100+ reviews for them. Is it worth it? Probably not. Way too much work for beer money, nowhere near enough money to qualify even as a side gig. A few years ago I was quite into it because I review stuff for fun anyway (and my living expenses were very small), but it's become more and more of a hassle. On top of reading and reviewing books, if you want to reach higher levels and get better opportunities, you need to post on forums, join monthly book discussions, share stuff on social media, and go through all sorts of verification processes. The review and post-review process is also a pain in the ass, and reviews can end up rejected for the silliest, most arbitrary reasons imaginable.
