View submission: Winter night sky over Mount Rainier
How much did your entire set up cost you? JW I’ve been wanting to get into astrophotography for years and finally have a descent job where I can afford nice things every now and then.

The mount and tripod cost $2600, the camera and lens cost $2400, the miscellaneous stuff (Asair plus controller, power bank, filter, processing software) was another $1200 or so. That’s for a wide angle setup. If you want a telescope for close up stuff you’re looking at more than that. Let me know if you have any other questions.

you can get your feet wet with much more affordable gear than OP is using for this shot. Don't get me wrong, OP's rig is dope, but IMO it's far from entry-level. The best rig is the one you actually use, and you can generally modularly upgrade a rig (one piece at a time as you either get the $ or the itch)
