Don't post Russian propaganda. Russian propo is going to be a straight ban. There will be no debate on the topic.

Please also be smart as it relates to this conflict, and mind your OPSEC manners a bit better. Don't be posting about US Troops in Eastern Europe, etc. Nothing that doesn't have a public-facing Army release to go with it.

Also, no, I won't be using full military date-time group for my updates because half of ya'll still won't understand it.

If you are a brand new account extolling your telegram groups as having good info, it's just that they're 'pro russian' but it's 'better than nothing', no. That isn't going to happen. Tell Putin I said fuck you. Double fuck you since I banned you in /military when you started that shit.

If you are trying to help push a narrative that all of Ukraine's leadership *and* defense forces are Neo-Nazis or actual Nazis, congratulations, you're pushing propaganda, and you will go bye bye.

One thing I think is incredible are the Ukrainians joining the fight right now. It's (reletively) easy to join the United States Army knowing it's the most powerful country on Earth. You know we'll win basically any fight we'd be in.

But to join a fight you know you're likely to lose just to defend your home is incredibly brave. Hopefully Ukraine will live to see another day

1. Fuck the Russians. My dad was also an armor dood in Europe in the early 80s, so fuck them.

2. As bad of a situation as this is for Ukraine, this is potentially the best thing for NATO in terms of intelligence on Russian capabilities and learning definitively their order of battle, and how they fight and move.

Also, just like military/vets get tired of the constant “am I getting drafted?” Or “are we going to war?” stuff, just because you are in the Army doesn’t mean you are an expert on geopolitics, strategic level combat operations, or hell even operational level stuff. Try to keep your opinions in your zone of expertise. I’ve already seen some “I’m in the Army and this is what Russia is doing tactically/operationally/strategically!”

Like calm down, you are an E5 in the infantry, not a damned general. Right now people are a bit on edge and nervous, giving uninformed opinions on how WW3 is going to break out while saying you are active or a veteran isn’t helping, especially when so many of them are just absolutely shit opinions.

Hot take: whether the initial invasion is successful or not this is the beginning of the end for Putin.

He takes Ukraine; he’s unable to hold it.

He doesn’t take Ukraine; he off’s himself or there is a coup

Both scenarios; the Russian population is destabilized and we see a “Russian Spring”. Remember, Putin’s first victims were the Russian people themselves who he and his oligarchs have stolen from and repressed in a dictatorship. The Russian people are tired, dead Russian conscripts are the whipped cream, and the Ruble crash that is about to happen is the cherry.

The part that concerns me, that isn't getting as much attention, is the fact that Putin is basically ignoring the Budapest Memorandum that his nation was a party to. What other international agreements does he plan to completely disregard? I don't care about political affiliation on this, I'm praying for our leaders to have strength and resolve on this- I'm not hoping they fail.

Ukraine regular forces will get crushed by Russian military, but God help the Russians if they try to stay for a regime change. They will leave bloodied and with their economy in even worse shape than it is now. I feel sorry for the Russian and Ukrainian citizens who will see WW2 levels of suffering because of this.

This information is reported via several media outlets. So Public knowledge...

ahem... A Russian Recon Platoon surrendered to Ukraine Military ground forces. The Russian PLT SGT supposedly claims they had no idea they were sent to invade or kill anyone and was just as surprised when the bombs dropped. Honestly, I find that to be in the realm of possibility. Can't tell you how many times I, and everyone nearby, had zero ideas what the fuck was going on. Kinda interesting.

Slight side note, moments like this are why nuclear power plants are so freaking important to have. Germany is willingly shutting down a safe and highly efficient internal power supply to become incredibly dependent on Russia. Blows my mind why they would shut down 3 power plants

Nuclear power is by far the best solution to saving the environment while still meeting the world's energy demands.

[IMPORTANT] Romania and Poland are taking refugees from Ukraine.

EDIT: Visas are not required to enter Poland, all you need is a passport.

EDIT 2: Reportedly, the Russian Military has forces waiting outside of the Polish border, most likely to attempt to catch any refugees before they can get to Poland.

The Ukrainians are throwing everything they have at the Russians right now and giving them all they can handle, at least for the moment. Keep an eye on fighting in Hostomel and Kherson, those are key engagements right now. Next few days will be crucial. Slava Ukrainia

Ukrainian Ambassador to the U.S. Oksana Markarova said on Thursday that a platoon of Russian soldiers surrendered to the Ukrainian military, saying they "didn't know that they were brought to Ukraine to kill Ukrainians."
At a press briefing, Markarova said, "Just before I came here, we got information from our chief commander that one of the platoons of the 74th motorized brigade from Kemerovo Oblast surrendered."
“They didn't know that they were brought to Ukraine to kill Ukrainians. They thought they were doing something else there," she added.
