Artsakh isnt just a "specific district" of Armenia. Its the only territory that hasn't been taken over or invaded or lost and regained or any other combination. I'ts withstood centuries long invasions and war and massacres. It represents peoples right to self determination, declaring independence legally from the Soviet Union and becoming de facto independent from Azerbaijan. Defending our lands with our 18 year old boys from murderers and terrorists. It is a symbol of Armenian survival and liberty and represents just that, Armenian survival. State Senator Anthony Portantino visited 2 weeks ago and even visited the front lines and was so moved he brought back some rocks off of the trenches and planted it in Glendale.

You know anyone can give a nice inspirational speech about each of those random street names. Heck you can give a similar speech about Armenia Way. At the end of the day, nobody besides Armenians care. If you named a street Artsakh in Armenia, okay, I'd get it. But in the US, it makes no sense (even with that inspirational paragraph you wrote up). I know that my comments aren't "nice" but that's how most besides Armenians feel. And let's fact it, we live in America, racism is inevitable. So all I'm saying is that I think that this street name is going overboard.
