View submission: What are the reasons millions of undocumented immigrants were allowed in the US? I don't recall ever hearing the most obvious reasons by politicians.

you are on an island basically, they swim across it? most migrants aren't going to be able to afford a plane ticket, hell I make 6 figures and can't afford to fly with these ridiculous fares.

Mexico/Central America is different because its connected to the US by land

Small boats across the Channel, or coming in via shipping containers. Or the most common way, like the USA, coming in legally and overstaying their visa.
