Passing it on as an unofficial project wouldn't really work since it still carries the reddit brand and would be confusing to new people. I guess theres nothing stopping someone else starting a "gift exchanges for reddit" system, if they wanted to

It was originally a community thing that was later taken over by reddit. I reckon we can just start it again
