If this isn't a book end for what was old Reddit I don't know what is.

When they fucked over Victoria, then the redesign, now this.
Next thing we'll know is they're getting rid of Subreddits because they're to complicated and then we won't be able to comment.

We're only about a decade past old Reddit, it was already losing a lot of its mystical coolness when I made this account 9 years ago.

The book end is when they turned from a free speech platform to permanent bans for using a word.

I'd say the firing of Victoria was, but this is probably the end of phase 2. Like the MCU but just keeps getting worse.

People talk about a Reddit that wasn’t just liberal agenda posts and unfunny memes. I wish I was there for it.

Yep - ngl I really saw the beginning of the end between awards and YouTube specifically. It was coming before that, but that made me cognisant of it.

Old Reddit is making a comeback. The servers have been crashing more like back in the day...

Reddit has been shit for a long time now. Unfortunately there isn’t a decent alternative yet. Hopefully we can see something pop up in the future. Ever since the company was sold off to some bullshit Chinese mega corporation it’s been nothing but downhill from there. Reddit is a far cry from what it was, and I hope that they can get fucked over in every possible way that they deserve for running what used to be a wonderful, community driven website into the ground in the pursuit of more money
