I understand what you're saying, though i would point out there.is a net loss of racism from the band. Also this idea of "institutional racism" is predicated on Reddit NOT banning other subreddits that can be reasonably deemed racist, and only time can tell that one

I agree the ban did get rid of many racist subs, I just think it should have gone further and tried to take a real stance against hate subs, not just remove the ones that are bad for PR and keep the ones that generate clicks and revenue. Additionally, the bigger issue (which they use to justify not going further) is the announcement for the new policy explicitly state: "the rule does not protect groups of people who are in the majority". They took extra effort and time to ensure certain racists on the site that their racism is still permitted and encouraged. That is, by definition, institutional racism and should outrage anyone who stands for racial equality.
