So my understanding is that people who hate both the reddit redesign and the official reddit app won't be able to participate? Seems kinda shitty.

I don’t understand this... can’t you just switch for the event? It’s not like your life will be ruined if you use the redesign for a day.

I mean...if you don’t want to use the Reddit app that bad, then kinda sucks for you. I can see why the admins would do it this way, the majority of users have the app and most new users on pc will use new Reddit.

There's no easy way to implement it in third party apps, and it would just as good be a waste of time to try to implement it on old Reddit. Just click the link, it'll automatically open up in new Reddit and next thing you do will be on your safe old Reddit again
