Hello hello,
We’ve made some changes to Multireddits that we’d like to share with you. Also, a fun contest! Let’s get to it...
Multireddits have been around a long time[1]. They are a way for redditors to curate communities into shareable feeds and can help newer redditors discover more communities. However, they haven’t been widely adopted. In order to prevent confusion, we will be changing the name from Multireddits to “Custom Feeds.” Sometimes simple is better.

We’ve added more support to new Reddit and our iOS app for Custom Feeds. Now, redditors can create a new Custom Feed, add or remove communities from them, duplicate other redditors' feeds, and change the privacy settings. Previously, this was something you could only do from old Reddit. We’ll be adding support for Custom Feeds on Android in the near future.
You can now follow another redditor’s Custom Feed (as long as it’s set to Public). This means that when you follow a feed it will appear on your list of Custom Feed subscriptions and when that redditor adds another community to the feed, you’ll see that update the next time you open the feed. This will be super useful for communities that want to keep a running feed of related communities, or for folks that have a specific ever-evolving interest that they want to share with others.
We’ve made some tweaks to the URL structure of your Custom Feed so that it’s easier to share with others. No more accidentally sharing a URL with /me/ in it that won’t work for anyone else. We’ve also created a new privacy category for public custom feeds, Hidden, that can be accessed by anyone with the link but will not show up on your profile.
You can now have spaces in the name of your Custom Feed. Enough said.
Follow a mix of communities and profiles.
In the near future communities will be able to create Custom Feeds that are owned by the community, rather than an individual. This will also support turning the Related Communities sidebar widget into a feed. We are also going to be building ways for you to see popular and trending Custom Feeds.
We are investing in this feature because we believe redditors are great at finding niche communities and we want more people to discover all of the unique communities that we have. Now for the gold[2] part! We are holding a one-week contest for the best Custom Feeds created by redditors. The winners will receive Coins and bragging rights.

To submit your Custom Feed, reply to the top-level sticky comment with a link to your Custom Feed and the category it best fits under. **It must be public.** Please only submit one feed per category.
Here are the categories that we will award winners from:
We’ll be picking winners based on a combination of the number of followers the feed has, how many upvotes their comment entry has, and our internal voting. Winners will be announced in a follow-up post next week.
Here are some custom feeds to get you started (many of which are mine):
See the sticky comment below to enter your Custom Feed.

The renaming to custom feeds works. I set up a few when I saw it in the app, and then realised that it was basically just multireddits, something I’ve known about for a while but never used.

Have you guys considered letting us save posts into categories? It would be lovely to be able to separate for gifs from finance posts from cool space posts from pretty pictures, etc. With the way it is now it’s fairly useless cause it takes so long to scroll to the stuff I want to find.

Why do these announcements always happen when I’m in history class and not doing work?

Listen, I'm not telling you how to do you job, but I've already won the Discussion category so you may as well just give it to me now. Allow me to present you with Talesfrom[1], a very nearly comprehensive grouping of all the Tales subreddits into one beautiful package, discussing the horror stories of interacting with other people.

The lack of a "memes" category is inexcusable.

I spent like 15 minutes trying to understanding how to use this feature only to re-read and notice it's not supported on android. Won't be getting bragging rights tonight.
That sounded worse than I intended.

When will you stop spamming every single mobile reddit page with the "OPEN REDDIT APP (X)" button?
It's fucking pathetic how you are trying to force me to use your shitty app instead of letting me use my browser, which has a much needed and perfectly usable translation function. This site is turning into bloatware day by day.

Multireddits are great because some times my smaller subreddit posts get missed by bigger subs in my feed.
I also noticed there isn't an award for *environment, History, education, or volunteer/donation* type feeds. Pretty disappointing.

This is great! Sometimes I want to be subscribed to multiple communities but it just makes my feed an absolute mess, now I can separate it out into several categories for less clutter.

I guess it's obvious Reddit Inc. is trying to marginalize us techies; this list reads like the "choose your interests" section of every corporate marketer. Not a single category for technology whatsoever....none of those would be appropriate for a tech or dev sub.
I mean, it's not like proggit was one of the very first subs or anything...

A lot of semi-related ~~subreddits~~ communities currently share a percentage of the same posts, often because redditors post the same post to multiple ~~subreddits~~ communities for increased coverage. This means that I see a lot of duplicate posts in my reddit feed. I know it's a complicated problem, but it would be awesome if y'all could do some kind of deduplication filtering so that when someone spams their latest youtube video I don't see it 6 times because I'm ~~subbed~~ a member of 6 of the ~~subreddits~~ communities that they posted to.
Or, make these new "feeds" a first class concept, so that redditors can post to a feed... But given the read-only connotations of the word "feed", I suspect this is not in the works.
