I went on there expecting /r/beatingmen and instead found essentially a list of really despicable quotes from all around reddit.

Quite the contrary. They explicitly discourage NP links[1] (one of their mods is the OP of that post) and pretty much every link currently on their frontage doesn't use an NP link. You'd have seen this for yourself if you'd actualy taken the time to check.
