Mate, I dont know how you waited long enough to see their sidebar. I opened it expecting bad and I was still shocked by what I saw. How the fuck is that allowed?

/r/killingboys

There's one picture of a dude about to be hanged--Syrian rebel iirc--and the rest is image macros and naked chicks.

Where I feel the other subs listed are very terrible, /r/watchpeopledie has a very morbid curiosity to it. In its own light, it plays with a feeling of how desensitized one can feel about seeing death. Some people there have even chosen careers in fields that have to deal with this every day.

All that being said, it has a reason to exist. On top of that, it's labled as a NSFW board so it will never show up in /all. So it's not hurting anyone.

I'm lie one of the most curious people in the world and very desensitized to dead bodies (in pictures and videos). but the thought of people looking at them for enjoyment just makes me want to turn into a fire a thousand times hotter than the sun and destroy all that is wrong with the world.

Making fun of fat people and hating people because of what some of the individuals in that group do just makes you a stupid asshole. But taking any kind of pleasure and enjoyment of dead or abused peopel and animals is just beyond terrible. thought though of a friend or family member being in one of these subreddits is too much.

I go to /r/watchpeopledie from time to time. It's not bcecouse I get a boner or any sadistic kick out of it. Death is something natural that happens to all of us, and there is nothing wrong with wanting to see how it actually looks/feels like in real-life outside of movies. Just don't read the comments most people there are disrespectful and sometimes outright disgusting.

TIL that watching people die is worse or comparable to abusing people who are still alive. Which is what fatpeoplehate was about. I don't think that it should have been banned. But let's be honest, /r/watchpeopledie doesn't hurt anyone. Unless you're squeamish.

No, they don't think that finding fatties gross (whether its satire or not is irrelevant) is worse than burning children. Thats not what the ban is even almost about.

You can say whatever the hell you want, but you can't brigade or harass en masse. If the front page of /r/beatingwomen2 was full of links to /r/relationships posts, which were suddenly filled with /r/beatingwomen2 subscribers talking about how they should just kick their girlfriend, it would be banned.

Instead, they just talk about their own horrible bullshit in their own sub, don't brigade, don't go anywhere in large numbers. I find them all horrible, just like I found fatpeoplehate, but am more than okay with them all existing so long as they follow the pretty common sense rules. Fatpeoplehate was even warned multiple times about this. It was well deserved and was clearly heading in the direction.

I don't think you know what /r/watchpeopledie is about...

It is not like those other subreddits you listed at all.

There is nothing wrong with /r/watchpeopledie. I get that the content can be extreme but it isn't like we are going out there harassing the victims families or making our own snuff films.

I don't understand how ANY of these subs exist. WHY THE FUCK don't they shut them down. Hurting Animals ?!?!? That makes me want to fucking kill someone. I'm leaving now to hug my dog.

I haven't seen anything wrong with /r/watchpeopledie the few times I've visited it(comparing to fph), but I can't actually know due to not being a frequent.

Few things I read affect me physically, but just reading that list made my heart race and made me feel the need to vomit. The fact that those subreddits exist is scarier to me than any horror movie.

/r/philosophyofrape & /r/RapingWomen. Apparently making fun of fat people is more harassing in a way that they fear for their safety more than a community dedicated to sharing tips on how to rape women and get away with it.

I had to click on all of them because I thought there is no dam way these are legit subreddits. Holy fuck was I wrong! I mean most of em have no new participation or very very little but the fact that people participated to begin with is disturbing. The most active by far is the cutefemalecorpses and that is just seriously disturbing that it continues.

Exactly...tons of racist, misogynistinc, misandronistic, hateful subreddits, and yet fatpeoplehate gets killed?

Look, coming from a fat guy, this is bullshit.

I have found that, and I guess I'm alone on this in these politically correct and troubling times, that if I find something disagreeable to me, maybe even repulsive and goes against my moral fabric (weak and rotten as it is), that instead of crying out that free speech be banned, I simply don't go there; I change the channel... I look in another direction at something that pleases me more.

I know, I know... a truly radical stance in America, the land of the brave and free, etc, but in my overzealousness to make sure my brothers and sisters toe some imaginary line in my head about what should and should not be, I may overstep my bounds and actually help do away with something important to the growth of humanity as a whole.

Wouldn't want that blood on my hands, now would I?

Holy hell I wish the existence of these things wasn't a shock to me. Back on 4chan this was sort of like having a slaughter house grafted onto the side of your apartment. It smelled like shit but at least you knew where the smell was coming from. This is like picking up the carpet and finding tower of cockroach condominiums spiraling down into the molten core of the planet.

Reddit defines "harassment" as:

Systematic and/or continued actions to torment or demean someone in a way that would make a reasonable person (1) conclude that reddit is not a safe platform to express their ideas or participate in the conversation, or (2) fear for their safety or the safety of those around them.

In other words, commenting "fat people are disgusting pieces of shit, and I hate them" is not harassment. Repeatedly messaging a user saying things like "I hate you, you disgusting fat piece of shit," and "if I knew where you lived, I'd beat the shit out of you for being so fat" would be harassment.

My guess is that r/fatpeoplehate was banned because of repeated reports of harassment, not because it contained offensive comments. If the sub was strictly about making fun of fat people in general, and not a platform that enabled and encouraged harassing individuals for being fat, it probably wouldn't have been banned.
