Are you not going to list how /r/fatpeoplehate had over 150,000 subscribers? Even the OP is enormously misleading. Yes, FPH was the only subreddit with over 5k subscribers - with over 150k. That's enormous.

I'm sorry but that's *it*? Are you fucking kidding me? If you're going to do this do it properly. Candidfashionpolice and all that shit is being ignored?

/r/redditarmie is still up. And a fucking program was created because they are such a cancer on YouTube and anywhere else they decide to troll. They do nothing but magnify why people hate reddit to begin with.

How many subs did /r/fatpeoplehate have?

Looking at the titles I can see why they might be... unsavory.
But I've been around here for several years and I have never been to any of those. I don't see how they are harassing people. If you find that stuff offensive, don't go there.
It's like a guy walking into a gay bar and complaining that he can't pick up chick's or that he got hit on by a dude. Obviously *that's* not the bar for him. And these subs were not for the masses.
As long as they are not on the defaults, I don't see how they could be offending people. ... Unless people go there looking to be offended.

There are a lot more I think I would have banned first since I've heard of exactly one of those. It's not like the racist subreddits hide themselves, their stupid network is publicly available.

So now that FPH has been banned, the content appears to be moving to r/pics and turning that into a cesspool. Awesome.

This was so clearly targeted at /r/fatpeoplehate. The other subs were sacrificed to provide plausible deniability. The banning is dispicable but the dishonesty about it shows a mentality that is worse than anything I ever saw on that sub. Reddit is that uncle you trusted to babysit your kids and you find out - too late - he's raping them. Fuck you reddit

Why would those other subs be banned?
If this is about actions not ideas, what actions where those other subs engaged in?
Was /r/hamplanethatred briganding other subs? /r/FatPeopleHate had 150,000 members, so spillover from there could be significant. But I can't imagine those other subs having much effect outside of their own sub.

I can confirm that /r/fatpeoplehate had a 150k count userbase.
I have never visited the subreddit while it was active, but I examined the last archive.org snapshot of it[1], and the user count was 149,504.

it was /r/trans_fags, and we had about 377 users.
edit: they have also removed our replacement, /r/transfaggots

For your 3rd edit, the 150k number is correct. I was personally looking at the subreddit data page in the last 24hours and that was the number I saw.
I briefly considered taking a screenshot of the subscriber graph and making a post referencing the curve in a snarky way.

As one of the mods of /r/asktransgender I welcome the new policy. We have minors in our sub which when you add in harassment. Such as reposting minors pics. Becomes a huge deal. But it would be nice. Not to be attacked.

Best website if you're interested in stuff like this is reddit metrics[1]. It has graphs for subscriber numbers, rank, growth, trending lists and so on.

"the only one with more than 5k subs" is quite a way to twist the popularity of that subreddit if other claims are anywhere near correct.

fatpeoplehate2 and fatpeoplehate3 are gone too but it appears admins are now just banning all fat themed subs regardless of activity.

I don't disagree with these subs being banned.
However, this whole banning subreddits thing has the same problem that eugenics has.
Both eugenics and banning subs have clear benefits to society. But the problem is that nobody can be trusted with the power. Who's to say they won't ban some religions sub because the person in control is of a different religion and doesn't like that the sub is spreading heresy?
Basically, reddit is now doing eugenics.

More than 5k subscribers???
Multiply that by 30 and you would be less condescending with such downplay. Stupid reddit CEO.
