If you are registered to vote, and have requested an absentee ballot, you should have either received it already, or if not you should be receiving it soon.
If you have received your ballot, READ THE INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY, fill it out, and then **MAKE SURE TO SIGN THE ENVELOPE IN THE CORRECT PLACE.**
Once you are finished, you can drop your ballot off at one of the following locations:
1. *ANY* Drop-Box
2. *ANY* Early Voting location

3. *ANY* Election Day Polling Location

4. Hand-deliver your ballot to your Regional Division of Elections office. The **Region IV Division of Elections Office in Nome** has no drop-box. (drop-boxes are outside of every Division of Election Office, except for Region IV – Nome). Even though there are drop-boxes at other Division of Elections office, you can still *hand-deliver* your absentee ballot to your Division of Election Office (I, II, III and IV) during business hours, instead of using the drop-box outside.
5. Mail it back to your Regional Election Office. Address will be on your envelope.
"In-person absentee" voting **DOES DIFFER** from "Early Voting" in Alaska.

According to the Alaska Division of Elections webiste:
"Early voting is only available at certain absentee voting locations that the division can establish a secure connection with the voter registration database system. Early voting is available in **Juneau, Anchorage, Wasilla, Fairbanks and Nome** at designated locations."
ALL cities that have "early" voting, as listed above have their regional Division of Elections office located in said city.

"Early" voting is the same process as you would vote on Election Day, except that you are not bound to your precinct. You will need to show a valid ID (See the "VOTER ID" section below).
THE RESULTS FOR EARLY VOTING WILL BE CANVASSED ON ELECTION DAY.
"In-person absentee" voting is literally voting a mail ballot in-person.
THESE VOTES WILL BE CANVASSED ONE WEEK AFTER ELECTION DAY (Tuesday, October 10).
If you are voting in-person, both in-person absentee voting and starts on **Monday, October 19.**
NOT EVERY EARLY/IN-PERSON ABSENTEE VOTING LOCATION STARTS ON MONDAY, OCTOBER 19TH.
Check out the link below for early and in-person absentee voting locations in your region.

If you are voting in-person on Election Day, you can vote in-person at your polling precinct.

If you are voting **"IN-PERSON ABSENTEE,** you WILL NOT NECESSARILY need traditional voter ID.
According to the Alaska Division of Elections Website:
"When voting **absentee in-person,** your eligibility to vote in the election is verified **after voting.** You will be asked to complete an outer envelope with your information and after voting your ballot will be placed in a secrecy sleeve and then sealed and secured inside the envelope.
Your voted ballot will be returned to your regional elections office and your eligibility to vote in the election is verified by a bi-partisan review board. Your information provided on the outside of the envelope will be used to update your registration information (if applicable) or register you to vote."

I haven't received my absentee ballot yet. What are my options if it never comes? When should i execute those options?
My ballot for the primaries arrived after the deadline to send it back. But at least i know my side was in order, even if delivery is slow in Covid Times.

Does anyone know the hours of the Divisions of Elections office, and when it's staffed to take in peoples' ballots? Or is there a dropoff box there?
