You might want to look in to floppy drive emulation instead, unless you actually want to try using the floppies:

Yeah not really a fan of replacing the floppy that click click is half the fun lol, I like to keep things stock I may do the chip memory upgrade as that looks like a simplyish socket and solder a couple of wires to the sidecar connector.

Better yet, FlashFloppy[1], which can work on a range of hardware.
