View submission: Sorry Tobias, you're empirically wrong--anti-veganism actually CAUSES racism (Costello and Hodson 2009)!

There's so much more constructive stuff a guy like Leenaert could do if he wasn't so full of himself. Nobody in the animal advocacy world needs his takes on how to convince meat eaters. If I want to read bland, wonky takes on this topic, I can go read Cooney. This shit has been done before.

And to add to this post's point: Leenaert and Cooney represent a kind of analysis that removes all politics from animal rights and veganism. It's all just about cognitive biases and logic. This helps nobody. Let's stop indulging these nerds who love to hear themselves talk.

Would it be okay if you detailed and disambiguated your critique a little more? I think that might make it more informative to others, as well as helping them engage with what you think more easily. :) For myself, I guess it's not obvious to me why this makes their work unhelpful. The EA community can be pretty harmful in general, and their attempts to be apolitical have definitely hurt me and my peers, so presumably, EA writers will have this similar detriment to their work.

At the same time, I think anyone would agree that that's not a sufficient condition for someone's information to be worthless, and it *does* help me, for instance, to know about the psychology of victim blaming and the harm of calling some group 'innocent.'

Maybe if you detailed your critique a little bit more it would be easier to see what it is you're saying and why?
