As a gay man, it irritates me a bit that a pride parade or having gay representation in TV or books is "shoving it down peoples' throats" but teaching a belief system and using it to oppress and control, whether it be between people, in schools, or in the fucking government. People cite the church so much in political decisions and personal morals/beliefs, and push those beliefs onto you. But the second someone lets it be known they like the same gender or sex, these same people are quick to cry that homosexuality is being shoved down peoples' throats.
