View submission: Amen 🙏

Many religious people including myself have a problem with this also. This is not a battle of a religious vs nonreligious. It's a battle of corrupt vs uncorrupt.

This. I'm an atheist, and I'm more than happy to live and let live. Most people are. Most people just want to live their lives.

Unfortunately, there are assholes who have convinced people that *others* are bad, *others* are coming to get them, *others* are evil and cannot be trusted, *others* are **less human**. You can insert whatever word you want in there. It doesn't matter, because the target isn't the point. Creating a mob is the point.

It's how oppressors operate, and it's not a "Christian" thing, it's a corrupt, evil human thing. Look at why Socrates was executed - this crap *well predates* Christendom. Hell, it's kinda what happened to *Jesus himself*, assuming the accounts we have for his death are at all accurate: he was killed for threatening the power of the corrupt.

It's all about corruption and using hate, fear, and suffering to gain power, wealth, or both. The religion - or lack thereof - is almost irrelevant. It's about **power** gained through the oppression of others.
