View submission: Disagreement in /r/xkcd after Randall fires shots through the friendzone
Hey, I like SRD and I live off popcorn. But when you have this kind of situation, where some asshole is clearly asking for attention and for more people to know about the subreddits/causes they are behind, I think it's a bad thing to draw any attention to it at all. I know that won't happen, but still. We're giving /u/soccer what he wants by listing off the subreddits he was "secretly" linking to, mentioning his subreddit in frontpage posts, and making more people aware of him and his pals.

Well, I think a big problem on Reddit currently is there are a lot of people like /u/soccer who are using the "first to claim it owns it" system of subs to do this type of thing, and Reddit's admins have absolutely failed to deal with this in any constructive manner. Getting posts about it on the front page will hopefully encourage them to look into modifying this policy into something a bit more manageable.
Of course, they will absolutely continue not to do this, and to enable Holocaust deniers by doing so. At least until some journalist with clout picks up the story and what little ad revenue Reddit generates is threatened, again.
