I agree. It's not really a typical 'conspiracy' to imagine a scenario like:
"Hey, I'm John Darden I own a popular restaurant chain and I'll give you 7 million dollars if you run this story"
"No no. We are all honest people here who pay our expensive San Francisco rent with integrity, not US Dollars. Be gone evil temptress!"
