View submission: Other distributions on steam deck?
There is ONE reason I can see why someone would Switch distros and that's because of the locked down root directory on SteamOS which kneecaps a lot of Linux power users from doing stuff they could do on other distros. If there was a distro with game mode and a unlocked root directory I'd consider switching

There is, it's called CachyOS handheld edition. Full Arch based distro with all the benefits like access to all packages, arguably CachyOS is the fastest and best gaming distro on Linux anyway.
