funnily enough, if you show up 10-20 minutes late they’ll still “stamp you” but send you home based on “first come, first serve” since they summon more people then necessary incase people don’t show. i’ve accidentally done this about 3 times and they do the same thing & i simply get a day or two off work. at least in my city. if a few people don’t show up then you’ll still be lucky enough to be selected though.

I worked for an employer that would pay my normal salary even if I was selected for jury duty, like literally paid time off that wasn't my own PTO.

I was so mad when I didn't get selected the last time I was called for jury duty.

if a few people don’t show up then you’ll still be lucky enough to be selected though.

In which case you got 10-20 minutes off work and jury duty. I see this as an absolute win.

I always say I believe in the strict letter of the law and the Defense asks me to be removed.
