View submission: Use your trackpads on the Steam Deck!

Trackpads are the killer feature, imo. They enable so many unique and versatile controls.

Agreed. I bought a deck on a whim but I found myself loving the trackpads. I can’t believe other companies make similar products without them. I feel they’re very necessary for a handheld pc, even if you don’t use them for gaming they’re super helpful for using desktop mode. I honestly don’t get how people use desktop mode on the other handheld pcs without a keyboard and mouse without losing their minds.

Even if you only use them in desktop mode they make all the fiddling with apps and installing games so much easier. I couldn't imagine trying to set up anything in desktop mode without them.

For me, the back buttons are the killer feature. I always use them instead of the face buttons. It's easier on my arthritis.

So... I never use them. Any examples of Configs for games I should check out?

They are great but I find it so annoying how almost every community controller profile uses the left trackpad as wasd. I can never can really use it unless I setup my own custom wheel.

Are shit. I have try them I want a way to deactivate them. Unluckily I can not physically remove them...

The only feature is taking space and not working.
