Try this place. It’s day labor type work but pays ok. The client has to pay the worker in cash, a minimum amount per job. The worker gets to see the job description and the minimum pay before they agree.

I have hired from them twice, and both times asked the worker if they would like to trade phone numbers to contact them directly for future work. Both of the guys were great and we have long-term working relationships now.

The link says “movers” but it‘s not just moving work.

Check out my employer, SLU. Their health benefits are great. Take a look at the Facilities Management jobs: https://www.slu.edu/working-at-slu/index.php[1][2]

Have you tried looking at general handyman FB pages around the St. Louis area? Anytime I’ve looked to have work done I usually see contractors posting as well looking for anywhere from a couple hours to a full days worth of help on job sites.

Check out the construction forum. They hold free events and the heads of construction companies come to them. Sounds like you have skills that could be applicable, even if you haven't worked construction before.

Navy vet here. I didn’t apply for it when I first got out either because I wasn’t disabled. Disabled to me meant the loss of limb. But then someone explained it that disability is not just about your current physical and mental health status but the future status of those things. For example, my knees swell when I run. This is due to PT’s on flight decks and hanger bays that have no give or support. It doesn’t hurt now but it absolutely will in a matter of years and that will affect my ability to walk. It will lead to multiple joint and back problems. These are all things that would have to entertain until much later in life if I hadn’t served my country. That service expedited and created lasting long term effects. Even if you only 10% for your hearing (and everyone that has ever served deserves that because every branch has you do things that damages your hearing) it’s better than nothing.

You deserve and have earned disability pay for your service to this nation. Don’t let pride or misguided guilt keep you from getting what you sacrificed your life for.

I would suggest making a post on Nextdoor. I’ve seen lots of handyman type people say they’re looking for work on there and it seems like they get lots of comments from people needing work done.

If you are a combat veteran, there is a group on Facebook that helps exclusively combat veterans in the St. Louis area.

I can't help with something this immediate, but World Wide Technology is desperate for warehouse workers in Edwardsville right now. Pay is decent, but benefits are some of the best in the area.

Try AOS Staffing. I think some of the places they recruit for pay weekly.

If you have a car that works for it, ride share or delivery services could easily pay that much in less than a day and you can pull out the money whenever you want.

You posted this same thing[1] here 8 months ago, same amount and all. What was wrong with the information you got that time?
