Hey all!

I bought lots of Kinkeliba tea on a recent trip to Mauritania from a Senegalese market. Now I'm doing a month of fasting and I would like to use the tea as a cleansing support.

I'm not sure about the best way to prepare the tea from the dried leaves though. How would you typically prepare the tea and what things would I need to account for to get the most benefits? Any tips would be much appreciated.

Thank you!

I have no tips on methodology. Growing up people use to throw some leaves in a hot pot on stove and bring the water to boiling point. However since you specified that you were fasting, do be careful about consumption on an empty stomach. Too much of the tea leads to severe bouts of hypotension

Infuse, don't boil. Bring water to boiling point, then take it off the fire/stove/etc. Dump your leaves in the hot water, let it settle for at least 10mn, then you can either store away or drink it directly. When drinking, you can add sugar to taste, or honey. When reheating, dont let it boil over or it will become too bitter.
