Hi guys,

This is stressing me out a bit. I’m a woman (30). I have dual nationality (UK and Sierra Leone). I am trying to get my visa process started and I honestly don’t know where to start.

I have a job and I was hoping they might be able to support with the work visa process? I saw there is a possibility of getting a year long visa. But then also I have an ECOWAS passport and I am seeing conflicting information about whether I can stay.

I have been here just over three months so I am a bit panicked. Any help would be appreciated.

If you have Ecowas passport you don’t need a visa to stay. If it makes you feel better, I think it’s easier to apply for a residency card rather than for a year long visa.

You must use the passport with which you entered in Senegal. And overall, a British or Sierra Leonean passport doesn't matter here. To stay more than 3 months in Senegal, you need *une* *carte d'identité d'étranger* (the ID card for foreigners). This is compulsory for any non-Senegalese citizens who would stay in Senegal more than 90 days. It allows the State to know how many regular foreigners are living in Senegal and it also allows the State to collect fees from this though

I don't know what job you got over here but they should have told you this since it's compulsory.

An ECOWAS passport just like an EU passport or US passport only allows holders to don't be required a visa to enter into Senegal. If they wish to stay more than 3 months, any foreigner no matter the country needs *une carte d'identité d'étranger*. To get this ID card can take few months so you will be given a receipt to keep until you get your ID card. It has the same official value as the ID card until you get your card.

If you've been here for already 3 months, you should hurry up. You will probably get scolded. At worst if the officer doesn't like you, you will get a fine.
