View submission: Q4 Safety & Security Report

Granting spam accounts the ability to block others from replying to them or their threads is the single biggest mistake I've ever seen. It's given them carte blanche to scam with no repurcussions. As a result I've seen a massive uptick in repost bots farming for future use by spam accounts. I sincerely hope reddit chooses to undo this "update" before the majority of the site is taken over by spam accounts either farming or advertising.

Just create 30 or 40 (for now) alt accounts, age them and get some karma from your favorite *FreeKarma* sub so you can leave comments pointing out their spam. When they’re blocked, move on to the next one. That’s what spammers do and no one seems to mind, so join the club!

Shoot, let’s register a domain, create a gearlaunch account and start selling some merch! What are we waiting for?

It's already taken over. View any repost on any popular subreddit. It's usually some karma bot.

And I’ve seen this brought up several threads with the admins and never addressed. It’s seriously being abused and needs to be addressed specifically.
