View submission: Suspected Campaign from Russia on Reddit

You're missing the point entirely. I'll explain why, but you're not going the change your mind.

First of all, if you genuinely think that Russia has had zero footprint within social media sites like this, then you have blinders on. The evidence is there. It happened and still happens.

Second of all, the incident happened 3+ years ago when elections were still happening. I think the timing speaks for itself.

EDIT: My third point was a backhanded and sensationalized generalization of Trump supporters that I made in the heat of the moment. I have removed it as not to stoop.

Man I'm not even into politics and I clearly remember something was just so God damn fishy on Twitter during the 2016 election. Like all of a sudden all these accounts from nowhere just started getting like crazy traction supporting Trump as president and I remember being confused because, they were turning his whole campaign into a meme. Like I truly believe the only reason he is president is because Russia had some type of team set up to infiltrate American social media into believing Trump was a good candidate for office. Like it actually legitimately worked, they memed his ass into office. What also helped is that 70% of this country is white people and he realized all he has to say is some racist stuff about Mexicans & black people and boom you got almost every white person over the age of 45s vote. Like I'm just an outsider but even I can see plain as day how he became president, and I'm ashamed. Very very ashamed at how the American population got conned. Russia really used our dumb memes and our racist past to get some bafoon in office to start the downfall of this country. I feel like the government knows this but won't admit it because we would look like complete fools for getting trolled in the biggest way literally imaginable.

That's quite a generalization.
