Ik heb een half jaar lang Nederlands geleerd, maar het meeste weer vergeten, dus stap ik over naar Engels. (ChatGPT helpt with translation)
I was really startled at first when I read "hoe" at the beginning before realizing it was Dutch.
I loved this artwork very much; it's one of my favorites, along with Starry Night, and the way you built the Rapunzel tower bigger on your flag.
Now, I realize how much these past few days mean to me. Working with all of you, even though we didn't see or hear each other in person.
I am in my forties now, and despite the war being nearly 80 years ago, and personally having nothing to do with it, I often felt some guilt when I was in the Netherlands, hoping the Dutch people wouldn't hate me if they found out that I am German. It's crazy that something so long ago, when most of us weren't even born, can still influence us so deeply.
So, it makes me very proud that we had such beautiful teamwork and appreciation for each other. <3

Are you crazy? We love the Germans they are our best ally, we are close culturally, share economic views, are both very depenble, integrated some military units and our founding father was a German. Germans and the Dutch go hand in hand.

We might joke about wanting our grandpa's bicycles back, but me, nor anyone I've ever known, have ever held any resentment against the Germans, especially today's generations, who had nothing at all to do with it of course!
