Cinemalaya

August 5 to 14 at CCP. They're also doing screenings at Ayala Cinemas in Greenbelt 3 and Glorietta, Makati, Trinoma and UP Town Center, Quezon City and Nuvali, Sta. Rosa. This year they're also doing screenings in Cebu from August 9-14 at the Ayala Mall.

Mensa Philippines' Qualifying Exam in Cebu[1] will be held on August 27, 2016, Saturday, at the Castle Peak Hotel, Cebu City.

Test sessions will be held every hour from 9:00am to 4:00pm. The Mensa qualifying test typically takes 40 minutes to complete. Check the link for add'l info.

Watch out for the peak of PERSEIDS METEOR SHOWER this 12-13 August! The Perseids Meteor Shower is one of the most awaited celestial wonders every year and its peak showcases about 60-100 meteors per hour.

Stargaze in places far from artificial light (away from light pollution) to see the night sky clearly. Peak hours will be around 1am onwards :-)

Edit: By "peak hours" I didn't mean its technical meaning for the term; I meant that it would be the best time to view the shower as that is the most usual time clouds dissipate (at least from my experiences)

If running a marathon is one of your bucket list then the online application for The Bull Runner Dream Marathon 2017[1] will be on August 8,2016 at 12 noon.

TBR is the only marathon in the world that caters to first and second time marathoners. I joined the past two year editions and I am very happy and proud of it. I am now an alumni and we will be there to support.
