Welcome to the second week of our subreddit's Drop Everything and Read! I hope you're still with me. If you missed a day or two, that's okay! There's still time today to get in a few pages. You can do it. <3

Just starting? Here's the Introduction[1] to what this is and why we're doing it. Week 1[2] just finished, but you can join in at any time!

The instructions are simple:

1. **Drop Everything** - stop scrolling, get off Reddit(!!!), put your phone away, minimize your browser, or close your laptop.

2. **Read!** - Any book you like, it's your choice. Read silently for 20-30 minutes.

Then write about your experience here. A basic entry will have:

Date:

Time:

Book:

After that you can write as much or as little as you like, either about the book itself or your thoughts on the activity. There's a more detailed list of guide questions in the Week 1 post, which I linked above.

Tips:

• **Cheat Days** - Having done this every day for the past week, I know that the reading fatigue can get real. Sometimes we just don't feel well, whether physically, emotionally or mentally. So you are allowed **1 to 2 rest days**, guilt-free. You can either not read at all, or set your minimum goal lower. Personally I want to keep on reading every day so I don't lose the habit, so on my rest days I aim for **10 minutes**. This way I don't break the chain.

• **When to read** - Some hidden pockets of time you might want to try to utilize: first thing in the morning, during your commute, in the bathroom, during your lunch or tea break, or right before bed.

Week 2 - Day 1

Date: 29 March 2018, Thursday

Time: 11:40pm (the previous day) to ~12:30am Book: The Hobbit by Tolkien

Yay I finished the book! Going to rewatch the movies soon to compare. I have a copy of a really old BBC Radio 4 dramatization of it but I listened to a few minutes and it seemed all over the place. Rather than the actual text just being read aloud, it was turned into a radio play. It was hard for me to understand because people were talking on top of each other, so messy. I also found Gandalf's voice (in the audiobook) funny, like kind of tricksy/untrustworthy, I definitely prefer the movie version. But maybe I'll listen to see how they performed the songs.

It's also the last day of the month tomorrow (well, today) so I'll try to finish at least one more book to add to my Read365 pile.
